Ca y est, Loïc s'est enfin réveillé. J'en ai parlé hier dans le podcast n°4, le Web 3 a été un évènement très important, le plus important qu'il nous est été donné de voir en Europe à propos du Web mais aussi du monde. De nombreux thèmes en rapport plus ou moins direct avec l'Internet on été abordés tels que la mondialisation, l'entreprenariat, etc. Loïc publie sur son blog un compte rendu digne de ce nom, partiellement traduit en Français (mais je vous conseille la version anglaise), dans lequel il aborde un à un chacun de ces domaines.

That said, I must now admit that the reactions in the blogosphere convinces me blogging conferences are dead. The tools we developed have entered the mainstream and we must embrace that. Artists, academics, politicians and so many others have joined the ranks of bloggers and web entrepreneurs in recognizing the power of social software. We must bring them into our conversation.

Le Web est devenu un outil populaire, il faut le prendre comme tel en adaptant nos outils et notre stratégie de communication au public visé. Il faut élargir le cercle de nos discussions, en oubliant la sphère technique et geekesque des blogueurs de tout poils qui en sont à l'origine, sans pour autant leur enlever de mérité d'en avoir été les précurseurs. Adapter le Web, c'est élargir le public pour enrichir un débat qui nous implique tout autant que nous sommes dans l'évolution du monde.

Shimon Peres said at LeWeb3: "Today a man can create an economic state of his own in a fair way," he added, before pointing to Big G: "Take the two young boys that created Google their budget is larger than that of any government in the Middle East - they didn't steal, they didn't chat - individual people are becoming creators of economies." We need more of these individuals in Europe.

To fight this battle, we can't do it only amongst bloggers or entrepreneurs. How can we teach kids at school that entrepreneurship is a good thing, that they need to learn english to compete in an ever more globalized World, they need to learn about taking risks ? We can as parents, I do teach my kids, but the impact is limited. We need all the constituencies in society to understand the need to promote the Internet and entrepreneurship. We especially need politicians to understand that.

Je suis tout à fait d'accord sur ce qu'il exprime là. L'entreprenariat est très mal perçu en France dans les foyers moyens et pauvres. Je pense qu'il est temps d'expliquer de quoi il relève vraiment : l'odieux capitaliste est en fait celui qui crée des emplois. Mais je pense que ce constat qui est fait relève surtout de la désinformation à tous les niveaux. Personne ne m'a jamais parlé d'entreprenariat et ce quelque soit le niveau d'étude dans lequel je me place.

Shimon Peres said we have rights, we have power (the fifth power as Thierry Crouzet calls it) and you demonstrated it by gathering in Paris without marketing and by launching a blogstorm against the way I behaved. He also said we have duties as citizens of The Second Superpower. There are already some obvious results from the clash.

Je trouve cette formulation très bien choisie : cet évènement à démontré le pouvoir de chacun d'entre nous de faire bouger les choses, de faire bouger les politiques et leur vision des citoyens à travers le dialogue qui s'instaure. Je ne reviendrai pas sur le fait que certains d'entre eux jouent plus ou moins bien le jeu, le revers de la médaille arrivera rapidement.
